Even before Covid, 1 in 4 children left primary school unable to read well*, and the situation is now much worse especially for the most disadvantaged children. This can have life long consequences.
Schoolreaders recruits volunteers to listen to children read in primary schools, focusing on schools with the greatest need. 95% of children supported by one of our volunteers improves their reading age.
